CALDWELL, Idaho - Battling a chilling cold and a pair of snow delays, The College of Idaho swept an NAIA West baseball doubleheader from Concordia University, 13-6 and 10-0, at Wolfe Field.

The opener was closer than the score indicated, as the Cavaliers (7-10, 2-5)  took a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning on a Chris Jaime sacrifice fly, only to see the Yotes retake the lead in the bottom of the inning on a long Cody Brubaker three-run homer.

CU would tie it in the top of the seventh on RBI singles from Jon Houts and Brennan Ingram, but the Yotes (10-5, 10-1) would blow the game open in the bottom of the frame - scoring seven runs.  Matt Mejia had a three-run double to push the lead to 10-6, Brubaker added an RBI triple, Diego Robles an RBI double, and Brad Carlsen an RBI single to cap the scoring.

Robles had a pair of doubles and Brubaker knocked in four in the win, while Houts went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the loss for the Cavs.

Game 2 saw a pair of delays due to a March snowstorm - but it didn't stop C of I starter, Jared Arehart, who was dominant, going six innings of one-hit ball, striking out seven, to pick up his first win.

A four-run first broke the game open, as Robles had a snow-aided RBI double and Carlsen an RBI single - before the first delay of the day.  The C of I would add single runs in the second and third, then finished off the scoring with a four-run fourth, keyed by a Brubaker two-run double.

Carlsen, Mejia, and Luke Howarth all had two hits for the Yotes, who have won ten of their last 11 games.  Jimmy Rudig had both Cavalier hits - including the first CU knock after Arehart had retired the first ten men in a row.

The Coyotes return to action next weekend, hosting a three-game series with rival Lewis-Clark State.  Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game will both begin at Noon.
