Concordia Women Edged for Third at UBC Intercollegiate
PORTLAND, Ore.—In a battle of three top-ranked teams, British Columbia held off Victoria and Concordia at the CN Gail Moore Intercollegiate held at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club.
The host Thunderbirds (324-315—639) shot the two lowest rounds of the two-day event to take a 23-stroke win over runner-up Victoria (336-326—662). After trailing UBC by a single stroke, Concordia (325-341—666) used 16 extra swings on Monday to fall to third place
UBC placed three golfers in the top four, including individual medalist Kyla Inaba (87-76—154) who won the tournament with a five-stroke margin.
CU’s Lindsay Aho (81-78—159) tied with UBC’s Alyssa Human (80-79—159) for second place. Kim Lindow (84-86—170) cracked the top 10 while the tree remaining Cavaliers all finished within a single stroke from each other. Sara Taylor (78-93—171) finished in a tie for 11th place while Holly Speer (85-87—172) and Kim Tilton (92-90—172) tied for 13th place.
The Cavs return to action on March 16-17 when they travel to Lewis-Clark State.
