California Takes Oregon/Cal Challenge

The California team of Chico State and Humboldt State defeated the Oregon team of Southern Oregon and Oregon Tech today in the Oregon/California Challenge at Raider Stadium.

The California men defeated Oregon 378-218 and the California women defeated Oregon 322-268.

The top two members of each institution scored points toward each “state” team.

Southern Oregon won four events during the day and had two NAIA Qualifying marks.

Senior Cameron Kreuz claimed victory in the 800 with an NAIA Automatic qualifying mark of 1:53.75.

Junior Antwun Baker scored a pair of victories in the 100 and 200 and earned his first NAIA qualifying mark.

Baker earned his NAIA mark in the 200 with a winning time of 21.94. Baker also won the 100 with a time of 10.90.

The fourth Raider victory came from David Laney in the 5,000 with a time of 15:32.81.

Southern Oregon will travel to the Oregon Relays next weekend.
