MONROE, Ore. – Concordia holds a 57-stroke lead after the opening day of the 2009 Cascade Collegiate Conference Championship presented by Diamond Woods Golf Course on Monday, as the Cavaliers' Lindsay Aho is the leader after the opening two rounds by 11 strokes after carding a combined 5-over 149.
Aho is ahead of fellow Cavalier teammate Kim Lindow (79-81=160), while Concordia's Holly Speer (85-82=167) and Kim Tilton (81-86=167) sit in a tie for third individually. The College of Idaho's Cecilia Garcia (84-84=168) rounds out the Top 5, while Northwest Christian's Ashley King (89-80=169) leads the Beacon players with Warner Pacific's Bailey Lyon (94-92=186) and Corban's Morgan McComish (101-100=202) leading the other two teams.
Team-wise, Concordia totaled a 67-over 643 (321-322) after the conclusion of Day #1 compated to The College of Idaho's 114-over 690 (341-349). Warner Pacific's 289-over 865 (433-432) is good enough for third place after Day #1, Corban sits in fourth place thanks to a combined total of 418-over 994 (486-508). Meanwhile, Northwest Christian did not turn in a complete team score in Round #2 after posting a four-player total of 163-over 451 in Round #1.
Tuesday's third and final round will be played on April 21st beginning at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.
