KLAMATH FALLS, Ore - Oregon Tech head soccer coach Bryan Mueller announced today that Melanie Johnson and Elizabeth Webb, of Henley High School in Klamath Falls, will both join the Lady Owl soccer program this fall.

Webb, a four-year varsity soccer player for the Hornets, was a three time all-conference pick, including a 1st team all-conference selection her senior year. Webb was also selected Team Captain both her junior and senior season and voted team MVP by her teammates in 2008.

“Elizabeth is a versatile defender and experienced player, having been with Basin United team for eight years” exclaimed Coach Mueller “She reads the game well and is a very good decision maker. We are excited she has chosen Oregon Tech and will compete for playing time immediately”.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Wayne and Debbie Webb and will major in Nursing at Oregon Tech in the fall.

Johnson, a four-year starter as a midfielder and forward for Henley, was a three-time all Skyline seclection, including first team awards in 2006 and 2008. Johnson, a three-sport athlete at Henley High school, competes in track and field where she currently holds the 400m sprint record. Johnson also spent four seasons on the Hornet swim team, winning the district champion in the 100m breast stroke in 2009.

“Mel is very strong and athletic and because of her speed can play both a midfield or forward position” commented Mueller “Mel makes great decisions both with the ball and around the goal and seems to always be at the right place at the right time.” Mueller continued “ We are extremely excited to have her join our roster this upcoming season.”

Melanie is the daughter of Bill and Susan Johnson and will major in General Studies in the fall.
