Concordia's Marc Arima heads the 2008-09 Cascade Collegiate Conference All-CCC team in men's golf.
Concordia's Arima Named CCC Player of Year
PORTLAND, Ore. – Concordia University senior Marc Arima, who led the Cascade Collegiate Conference in scoring average during the 2008-09 regular season, has been named the CCC Player of the Year in men’s golf.
In five CCC tournaments, Arima fashioned a scoring average of 72.50, more than two strokes better than the nearest competitor. Arima tied for third at this week’s CCC Championships presented by Diamond Woods Golf Course in helping the Cavaliers to the team crown.
Arima was joined by three teammates on the eight-person all-conference team – senior A.J. Lightheart and freshmen Jonny Miller and Jared Moe.
Other all-conference members included senior Justin Ahrens of Northwest Christian, freshman Joey Duwe of Corban, junior Jon Gaffney of Warner Pacific, and sophomore Brent McKee of Northwest Christian.
Concordia’s Ronn Grove and College of Idaho’s Garry Matlock shared Coach of the Year honors. College of Idaho earned the CCC’s Champion of Character award.
