CU's Aho Repeats as CCC Player of the Year
PORTLAND, Ore. – Junior Lindsay Aho, who captured medalist honors in all five Cascade Collegiate Conference tournaments this season, has been named the CCC’s 2008-09 Player of the Year in women’s golf.
Aho, from Brush Prairie, Wash., averaged a conference-best 76.1 strokes per round across five CCC tournaments. Earlier this week she won the individual crown at the CCC Championships presented by Diamond Woods Golf Course, which followed medalist honors earlier this season at the Northwest Christian, College of Idaho, Concordia and Warner Pacific invitationals.
Concordia won its second consecutive CCC championship.
Joining Aho on the eight-person All-CCC team were three teammates from Concordia – senior Kim Tilton and freshmen Holly Speer and Sarah Taylor. Others named to the all-league team included junior Cecilia Garcia, freshman Heidi Murphy and freshman Breanna Pace of College of Idaho, and sophomore Ashley King of Northwest Christian.
College of Idaho's Garry Matlock was named Coach of the Year, and College of Idaho was named the recipient of the CCC's Champion of Character award.
