EOU seniors play their last home CCC game today.
Big Sixth Gives Mounties Senior Day Split

LA GRANDE, Ore. - The Eastern Oregon University softball team split two games (4-0, 5-4) with Corban College on a windy afternoon at Peggy Anderson Field.
Eastern dropped game one to the Warriors 4-0, then in the second game down 4-0 once again the Mounties put together a five run 6th and held on to earn the split.
Game one was dominated by Corban Pitcher Erin Sailors who gave up just 3 hits and no runs in a complete game shut out of the Mountaineers. Offensively, the Warriors put two on the board in the first when Right Fielder Jennifer Kollaer hit a solo shot to left field followed by a Ashley Strom single that scored the Warriors Rebecca Franke. Corban (18-24, 6-14 CCC) would add a couple of runs in the 4th and 5th innings making the final 4-0.
In the second game Corban's Sailors looked to be cruising to another shut out win until the critical 6th inning. Corban led 4-0 when Sailors went to the circle and walked Ashleigh Bryne, Kassi Reisbeck and Megan Platz in order and was replaced.
An Iris Woodhead double would score 3 runs and when Megan Hardman followed that up with an RBI single it led the way for a Mountaineer come from behind 5-4 victory in their final conference home game at "The Peg".
Freshman Pitcher Samantha Pedro threw the final two innings and scored the win for the Mountaineers (12-24, 6-14 CCC).
Seniors Hannah Kirk, Crystal Weseman, Kimmy Peterson, Megan Monaghan and Megan Platz were honored at halftime for their contributions to EOU and the Mountaineer softball team. Platz was given a commemorative bat recognizing her as the Mounties all-time Homerun queen with 27 long balls and counting.
Eastern will return to action Sunday at 1:00 against non-conference rival Walla Walla University before finishing up CCC play on the road at Oregon Tech and Southern Oregon.
