Concordia, Arima Hold 36-Hole Clubhouse Lead
OREGON CITY, Ore. – Thanks to a closing round team total of even-par 288, Concordia holds the 36-hole clubhouse lead at the Warner Pacific Invitational Monday at Stone Creek Golf Club.
The Cavaliers' Marc Arima hold the overnight lead after closing the day with a 2-under 70 to overcome a one-shot deficit after the morning round with a two-round total of 2-under 142. Corban's Joey Duwe, who held the lead after Round #1 thanks to a 1-under 71, sits one shot behind Arima with a combined score of 1-under 143. The aforementioned duo are the only two players in the field that are in red numbers heading into the third and final round.
Team-wise, Concordia turned in a combined two-round total of 13-over 589 (301-288) and sits 27 strokes ahead of Corban (307-309=616). In third place, The College of Idaho (317-311=628) is 12 strokes out of second place and two strokes in front of Northwest Christian (321-309=630). Tournament-host Warner Pacific sits in fifth place and is 33 strokes behind Northwest Christian thanks to a two-round total of 97-over 673 (338-335).
Rounding out the Top 5 individually are Concordia's Jared Moe (76-72=148), Northwest Christian's Brent McKee (76-73=149), and Concordia's Will Snow (75-75=150). The College of Idaho's Ben Coate (79-77=156) and Cris Tietsort (81-75=156) are the lowest 'Yotes, as the duo sits in a tie for ninth individually thanks to two-round totals of 12-over.
The three-round tournament concludes on Tuesday, April 7th, with the third and final round that is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at Stone Creek Golf Club.
