Concordia Women in 12th at NAIA Golf

RAPID CITY, S.D. –Coming into the tournament ranked No. 15 in the NAIA, the Concordia women’s golf team got off to a strong start by posting a 38-over 326 in the opening round of the NAIA Championships held at Meadowbrook Golf Course on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers were led by junior Kim Lindow, who fired a 6-over 78 to end the day in an six-way tie for 28th. Sara Taylor, a freshman, carded a 9-over 81 to rest in a tie for 56th. Lindsay Aho, the recently minted CCC Player of the Year, shot an 11-over to enter the clubhouse in 78th place. Holly Speer, another freshman, was one stroke back with a 12-over 84 and Kim Tilton recorded a 13-over 85 to round out the CU squad.
California Baptist holds the first-day lead with a 9-over 297. Oklahoma City, the four-time defending NAIA champions, concluded the first round in second place with a 14-over 302. British Columbia, a Concordia regional foe, ended the day in third with a 10-over 298.
California Baptist’s Adriana Niclotti was the lone golfer to post a score below par with a 1-under 71. UBC’s Kyla Inaba recorded an even-par 72 for second place.
Paired with No. 6-ranked Berry College and Walsh University, the Cavaliers resume action on Wednesday at 1:50 p.m. (CST).
