Grace Cappleman will join the Concordia women's basketball team next season.
Seattle's Cappleman Signs with Concordia Hoops
PORTLAND, Ore.— Grace Cappleman, a 6-foot-2 post from Roosevelt High School (Seattle, Wash.), has signed to continue her education and play basketball at Concordia University, Cavalier head coach Aaron Christian announced.
Cappleman was a four-year varsity player for the Roughriders. She averaged 8.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game as a senior, leading RHS to a 14-9 overall record and a 9-3 mark in league action. Cappleman posted a season-best 23 points against Hale H.S. (12- 8-08) and grabbed a season-best 10 rebounds against Garfield H.S. (2-4-09). Cappleman was a member of two KingCo – Mountain league championships as well as two 4A state tournament teams.
“Grace will be an excellent addition to our roster. With her size and defensive presence, she will fit in nicely in our system. I truly believe her best years are ahead of her,” Christian said. “We look forward to seeing her continue to improve and develop her skills.”
Concordia finished the season ranked No. 10 in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll. An all-time best representation, the Cavaliers reached as high as No. 8 in the standings during the regular season. The Cavaliers reached the second round of the NAIA National Championships with a win over Iowa Wesleyan in the opening round.
