OIT's Mauricio Named 2nd Team All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced today the 2009 NAIA Baseball All-Americans, as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) All-America Selection Committee. Oregon Tech junior second baseman Ryson Mauricio (Mililani, Hawaii) was a 2nd Team All-American selection.
Mauricio made his mark in the Oregon Tech record book, setting the single-season program record for runs (53), total bases (148), hits (85), doubles (21), RBI (69) and home runs (14). Mauricio also led the NAIA west in five of those categories, including hits, runs, RBI, doubles and total bases. On the year, he hit a team-leading .378 with a .658 slugging percentage. Mauricio's honors in 2009 included Conference Player of the Year and NAIA West Player of the Year.
