NU's Redwine Playing for the Sounders
SEATTLE, Wash. - NU's Erin Redwine,not only has duties as the Eagles women's head soccer coach and mother of two beautiful children, but she is also a member of the Seattle Sounders women's team of the W-League, a member of the United Soccer League.
On Friday, June 5th, the Women's Seattle Sounders will be playing the Pali Blues, 2008 W-League Champions, in a regular season game at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington at 7:00 pm.
The Pali Blues roster is comprised of a number of Women's National Team pool players, along with top collegiate players. The Pali Blues are currently the "feeder" team for the new WPS (Women's Professional Soccer) team, the LA Sol.
The Commissioner of the WPS League, along with other WPS representatives, will be in attendance for the game. WPS is interested in seeing the support and fan base for the Women's game in the Northwest. With the tremendous amount of support for our MLS Men's Sounders team, the WPS has taken a strong interest in placing a WPS team in Seattle.
After graduating from Issaquah High School, Redwine went on to play for the University of Montana from 1997-1999, then finished her college career at Seattle Pacific University where she was named Team Captain, All-Conference First team and Academic All-Star. Erin, a forward, has played semi professional soccer for the Seattle Sounders since 2003.
