Jason Holzwarth will join the Cavaliers after two seasons with the College of the Canyons. Concordia Basketball Adds Jason Holzwarth to 2009 Recruiting Class 6/3/2009 4:44:53 PM PORTLAND, Ore. – Jason Holzwarth, a native of Keller, Texas, and two year player at the College of the Canyons, has signed to continue his education and play basketball at Concordia University, CU head coach Brad Barbarick announced. “Jason is a very quick guard that brings defensive quickness to the backcourt and can play both the off-guard and point positions,” Barbarick said. “He will be the fourth player from the College of the Canyons to play for me at CU, following the lines of successful players like Randy Eason (1994-96), Gene Barshtak (1994-96), and Kevin King (1999-2000).” Holzwarth starred at Keller High School located north of Fort Worth. A 2005 high school graduate, Holzwarth averaged 12 points per game as a freshman at College of the Canyons and 14 points per game as a sophomore. He finished his career with the Cougars ranked second on the school’s all-time list for three-pointers made. He was named a first-team all-conference player following his second season.
