Tech Soccer Signs Defender from South Medford

Klamath Falls, Oregon – Oregon Tech head men’s soccer coach Bryan Mueller announced today the signing of South Medford High standout Raul Tovar a 6-0 defender.

Raul played varsity soccer as a defender all four years at South Medford High. He was honorable mention his freshman year, 2nd team all conference in both his sophomore and junior years, and was a 1st team selection his senior year. Raul played club soccer for the Phoenix Outcast in the Winter Premier, and Southern Oregon F.C. Raul teams won the Rogue Valley Cup in 2006, 2008, and in 2009. In 2007 and 2008 Raul was named the Small Business “Student of the Year” at South Medford High.

Coach Mueller said, “Raul is an outstanding find for Oregon Tech. He will be a key player for us this upcoming season. Raul is a composed player and an excellent decision maker, and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Raul can also attack from the back and is good on set plays. We are looking forward to his impact and strength, in our program for the next 4 years.”

His Parents are Raul and Ana Maria Tovar, and will major in Business at OIT beginning this fall.
