EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest Christian University Head Women’s Basketball Coach Liz Turner-Bolton announced this week the signing of Stacey Aldrink (Portland) to a Cascade Conference Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Beacons this season.

Aldrink, a left-handed post player from Liberty HS, averaged a double-double during her senior year on her way to Second-Team All-NWOC honors. She led the Falcons to a state tournament appearance in 2009 as well and was the team captain during her junior and senior seasons.

Head Women’s Basketball Coach Liz Turner-Bolton said, “I am very pleased that Stacey has decided to continue her playing career at NCU. She is a talented and strong post player with a good touch around the basket. Her size will contribute to our post depth and her ability to rebound will help us get out and run our transition game. She comes highly rated from her high school basketball coach, she is extremely coachable and an excellent student. We look forward to great things from her in the future.”

The Northwest Christian University women’s basketball team is looking to rebound after a tough 2008-2009 season in which the Beacons went 3-17 in Cascade Conference action and were unable to qualify for the CCC tournament. NCU opens up the 2009-2010 year on October 30th, with an exhibition against NCAA D.I University of Idaho.
