Knights Fall In Tough Season Opener

BURNABY, B.C. - The 2009 Warner Pacific men's soccer season started with a tough loss to a very strong Simon Fraser Univeristy club by the score of 6-1 yesterday in Canada.
The host Clan (1-0) were very efficient, scoring 3 goals in each half on just 11 shots for the match. Craig Koskey managed to knock home an unassisted goal at the end of the first period for the Knight's only tally. WPC had 4 shots for the game, led by forward Evan Lehner with 2.
Newcomers Sean Ervin and Drew Bonifacio each served 45 minutes in goal for Warner Pacific (0-1).
SFU held the advantage in corner kicks 10-2.
The Knights have two more scrimmage tuneups including today at Western Washington before travelling to McMinnville to square off versus Linfield College on September 1st.
