GRESHAM, Ore. - The Warner Pacific women's soccer team kicked off the 2009 season with a friendly match versus a group of Knight alumni today at Gresham's Gradin Park.

Head coach Justin Rosenblad got a chance to review his revamped roster in a game situation and evaluate where individual players might end up on the field. "We have a lot of new faces, so the ladies are still learning how to play together," said Rosenblad. "I'm excited about this group and what we can accomplish this season."

"I'd like to thank all the alums who came out and played today," said Rosenblad. "We'd really like this to become something that they look forward to every year as we build the program. Most of them were pretty tired toward the end of the game, but so was our current team. It showed that we need to improve our fitness level."

The Knights will have two more tuneups next week as they host scrimmages versus Green River CC on Tuesday the 25th, and Clackmas CC on the Wednesday 26th. Both events will be at 3:00 pm at Gradin Park in Gresham.
