Eagles Hold Off Raiders 1-0
ASHLAND, ORE. -- Hayley Partridge’s goal late in the second half was enough as Concordia (Calif.) scored a 1-0 victory over Southern Oregon today at University Field in the season opener for both teams.
Both teams will play again in Ashland on Sunday. Concordia (Calif.) will play second-ranked Concordia (Ore.) at 11 a.m. and SOU and Oregon Tech will play at 1:30 p.m.
Partridge worked her way up the left side and fired from 12 yards up and had the ball just go under SOU goalie Jessica Kuehlwein’s hands to score the only goal of the game.
Concordia’s Bekah Garvin helped protect the lead by turning away SOU on a corner kick at the 84 minute mark.
Concordia came away with 22 shots during the match and SOU finished with eight.
Tori Chambliss, Sara Switzer, Lindsey Thomas, Stephanie Carr and Chennin Young all had shots on goal for the Raiders.
