Warner Pacific College Athletics Adds New Leadership
PORTLAND, Ore – Warner Pacific College announces the hiring of Ryan Kaiser as director of athletics. A native Oregonian, Kaiser most recently served as associate athletic director of Newberry College in Newberry, S.C. He replaces outgoing athletic director Bart Valentine, who will focus on teaching mathematics and coaching varsity men’s basketball at Warner Pacific.
Kaiser holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oregon State University and a master of education degree from Defiance College (Defiance, Ohio). He previously worked in athletic administration at Western Oregon University and Defiance College.
“Ryan comes highly recommended and brings a true enthusiasm and desire to succeed,” said Kevin M. Bryant, Warner Pacific’s Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “We anticipate great things ahead for Warner Pacific athletics.”
Joining Kaiser on the Athletics staff is new Sports Information Director Cody Harrod, who served as both sports information director and assistant athletic director at Cascade College, in Portland.
The Warner Pacific Knights compete in six sports, including men’s and women’s golf, cross country, soccer, track and field, and basketball, as well as women’s volleyball. The men’s basketball team, in particular, has risen to national prominence, making four consecutive appearances at the NAIA Division II tournament between 2006 and 2009.
