Warner Pacific Knocks Off OIT 1-0
Klamath Falls, Ore. – Warner Pacific scored the game’s only goal in the 73rd minute when Evan Lehner (So. Camas, Wash.) sent a corner kick over the head of Oregon Tech Goalie Tommy Burden (Jr. Costa Mesa, Calif.) who could only get a few finger tips on the ball before reached the net. Warner Pacific improved to 2-3 on the season and 1-0 in the Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC). The Hustlin’ Owls slip to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the CCC.
The Knights edged the Owls in shots 12-11 and also had a slight advantage in shots on goal 7-6.
A total of 30 fouls were whistled in the game 20-10 also favoring the visitors from Portland.
Oregon Tech goalie Tommy Burden was credited with 5 saves for the game and gave up the lone goal. Sean Ervin (Jr. Vancouver, Wash.) was credited with 4 saves in picking up the win for Warner Pacific.
Oregon Tech will hit the road this week playing at Northwest Christian on Tuesday and at College of Idaho next Saturday before returning home to play Corban College September 26th at 7:00 pm.
