NAMPA, Idaho - Thanks to a trio of Top-10 finishes on the 4,000-meter course, The College of Idaho women's cross country team claimed the team championship at the Roger Curran Invitational at West Park.

The Lady Yotes, ranked No. 8 in the NAIA Preseason Top-25, finished with 46 team points - six ahead of NCAA Division I program Boise State, and comfortably ahead of rivals Eastern Oregon and Northwest Nazarene.

Stephanie Helm led the way, placing second in a school record time of 14:23.83, while senior Molli Lee-Painter took eighth (15:12.09) and freshman Kaitlyn Gerard took tenth (15:17.38).

The Coyote men had a great team race, finishing second to BSU - as their first-through-fifth placers were separated by just 37 seconds.

True freshman Andrew Hugill was outstanding in his debut, placing sixth overall in 19:07.24 over the 6,000-meter course, with junior J.J. Burk placing tenth (19:16.37).

Both teams will take next week off in preparation for the Bob Firman Invitational on Sept. 26.
