NAIA XC Polls: 5 CCC Teams Ranked in Top 25
KANSAS CITY -- Five Cascade Collegiate Conference cross country programs have earned Top 25 rankings and three others are receiving votes, including the Northwest Christian women's program, which is the first Beacon team in any sport to earn points in an NAIA poll.
In the men's Top 25, Concordia moved up one spot, to sixth, while Southern Oregon, the defending CCC champion and fourth-place national finisher a year ago, climbed from 10th to ninth. College of Idaho, which was receiving votes in the preseason poll, checked in at No. 25.
In the women's Top 25, College of Idaho moved from eighth to seventh after an impressive victory in the Roger Curran Invitational last Saturday, while Concordia is ranked 14th. Northwest Christian, which had a strong appearance in the Lewis & Clark Invitational last weekend, totaled 20 points for 33rd place. Eastern Oregon picked up one point.
Seven CCC programs will be competing in the Northwest Christian Invitational this Saturday. The meet begins at 10 a.m. at Dorris Ranch in Springfield.
