KLAMATH FALLS, Ore – The Oregon Tech volleyball team picked up a much needed conference win, handing The Evergreen State College a three set loss, 25-8, 25-19, 25-13 tonight at Danny Miles Court. The Owls move to 2-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

Oregon Tech got off to a slow start in the opener, but would take a 10-8 lead, thanks to four Joey Larsen kills. The Owls then reeled off 15-straight against the Geoducks to take the first set 25-8.

It took a while for the Owls to shake TESC, as Tech held on to a slim 13-10 lead. Oregon Tech then pushed their advantage to 18-12 and hung on for a set two win, 25-19.

After a 9-9 draw in set three, five-straight points pushed Oregon Tech’s advantage to 14-9. The teams traded points, as the Owls still sported a five point lead, 17-12. It was then all Oregon Tech, as a six point run ended the set and match 25-13.

Larsen ended the evening with a match-high 12 kills, including seven in the first set alone. Megan Christensen followed with eight kills, and both Christine Bansen and Mikayla Morgan added five apiece. Larsen added a team-high eight digs, followed by Bansen with six. The Owls tallied 10 aces, with Larsen and Sarah Svedin adding three each to their season total.

The Geoducks Jazzmin Garcia, Kaylani Evans and Leasia Jones had four kills each for the visitors. Setter Meghan De Larosa came up with a match-high 13 assists, while Chantal Petkus finished with a match-high 12 digs.

Oregon Tech will host Northwest University on Saturday, September 19th at 7 pm.
