SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Eastern Oregon University men ran away with the title on Saturday in the Northwest Christian University Invitational, while the Concordia University women squeezed out a two-point victory over EOU for crown.

The Mountaineer men had four of the top-six individual finishers among the collegiate runners, led by Kody Coxen who scored second-place points with an eighth-place overall finish. The top four runners were all unattached runners and following in fifth with the best time for a CCC athlete was Brian Rakestraw from The Evergreen State University.

EOU scored 27 points as a team, easily distancing themselves from the 62 tabulation from Concordia University. Warner Pacific took third with 85 points, followed by Corban (100), Northwest Christian (122), Evergreen State (163) and Oregon Tech (170).

On the women’s side, Concordia scored 48 points to edge past Eastern Oregon, finishing with 50. The Cavalier’s Alice Taylor won the race with a course-record time of 17:44 and was followed by EOU”s Karlee Coffey in second at 17:58.

Host school Northwest Christian was just nine points back in third place with 59 points and Lane Community College took fourth with 112. Warner Pacific was fifth with 123 and was followed by Corban (138) and Oregon Tech (159).
