BOX SCORE

PORTLAND, Ore. – 110 minutes of soccer between Warner Pacific and Lewis & Clark resulted in a 0-0 tie in women’s soccer action at Meyer/Beck Field tonight at Portland Christian High School.

Neither team could muster a consistent offensive attack, though Warner Pacific (0-0-1) did manage to send 16 shots toward the Pioneer goal, compared to four for the visitors.

The Knight’s best chance came at the 83 minute mark as Marissa McGinn cracked a left footed drive from 15 yards that went just wide left.

Lewis & Clark (0-0-1) nearly stole the win in the second overtime period. The Pioneers’ Catherine Kitts offered a quality corner kick service that was narrowly cleared off the line by the WPC defense.

“We controlled play for the most part tonight, limited their chances, and generated some good opportunities for ourselves,” said head coach Justin Rosenblad. “Unfortunately many of our shots were not on target. I’m pleased with the effort, and we’ll keep working to improve.”

Lacey Golden worked al 110 minutes in goal for the Knights and picked up 3 saves. Elise Delgoado turned away 5 shots for Lewis & Clark.
