KIRKLAND, Wash. - Concordia jumped out early in the first game and the Eagles couldn't seem to recover as the Cavaliers swept the Eagles in three sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-18) tonight in CCC play in the Pavilion.

With the score 6-5 Concordia in the first set, the Cavs rattled off 7 straight points to the Eagles two to lead 13-7 on two straight service aces by CU's Kim Lindow. NU would pull to within 3 at 24-21, but Clair Thiel's kill would give CU the win, 25-21.

In set two, NU would hold an early 4-3 lead, but Concordia would go on a 10-4 run to take the lead, 13-8, a lead they would maintain on their way to a 25-23 win.

The final set was close in the early going as the set was tied 8-8, but the Cavs' would again out score the Eagles 6-0 to lead 14-8. NU couldn't manage a run of their own and CU closed out the set and the match on Skyler Kamaka's kill (25-18).

NU's (4-11, 3-3 CCC) Breanna Covey led the Eagles with 9 kills while teammate Lauren Holtz added 8 kills and 13 digs on the night. Lauryn Ernster contributed 20 assists in the loss.

Mariana Toscano led Concordia (7-6, 4-2 CCC) with 9 kills and 17 digs. Skyler Kamaka had 20 assists and Kim Lindow had 15 digs for the Cavaliers.

"We just didn't quite have enough to pull it out tonight," commented Eagle coach Jessie Dietrich." We were on and off tonight and Concordia took advantage of us when we were off."

NU continues play Saturday night as they take on Warner Pacific while Concordia travels south to Olympia to play the Evergreen State College in CCC play.
