Oregon Tech Runs Home Win Streak to 29
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Joseph Foster went for 20 points and the No. 5 ranked Hustlin’ Owls ran their home win streak to 29-straight with an 82-56 non-conference win tonight over Portland Bible College. The teams will have a re-match tomorrow afternoon beginning at 2:00 pm.
Oregon Tech improved to 14-3 with the win.
The teams were tied just two minutes in before two Justin Parnell free throws pushed the Owls to a 10 point lead, 19-9, with just over 12 minutes on the clock.
Oregon Tech took their largest lead of the first half at 13 points on a David Clarke triple only three minutes later.
A steal and Mike White jumper would eventually pull Portland Bible back to within five points with only 3:23 remaining in the half, but an Owl 8-3 run would close the scoring sending Tech to the locker room with a 41-30 lead.
Portland Bible cut their deficit to 10 points to begin the second Stanza, but that was as close as the Wildcats would get.
Oregon Tech quickly built a 22 point lead, 58-36, on a Joseph Foster trey with 11:30 remaining to play and methodically pulled away to win by an 82-56 final.
Joseph Foster led all scorers with 20 points on 7-for-11 from the field, including 6-for-10 from long range. Justin Parnell added 17 points, six rebound and five assists. Myles Daley finished with 10 points and seven rebounds, while Kyle Gomez grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds to go with nine points.
Michael Cooper was high scorer for Portland Bible with 16 points and seven rebounds, with Mike White following with 12 points in the loss.
The Owls held PBC to only 38.9% shooting, while connecting on 51.7% on 30-of-58 from the floor. The Owls hit 14-of-31 3-point field goals and outrebounded the Wildcats 45-to-21, with 17 of those coming on the offensive end.
