LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Warner Pacific College women's basketball used 60 percent shooting from the field in the first half to power itself past Eastern Oregon University Friday, 68-51.

The Mountaineers (14-8) (8-4) never found their rhythm on White Out night in Quinn Coliseum, and the Lady Knights picked up a key road victory in the wild Cascade Collegiate Conference race. WPC led 41-20 at halftime, it's largest lead of the game.

Eastern Oregon had its only lead two minutes into the game, 4-2. Warner Pacific then went on a 19-5 run over the next six minutes. EOU cut the lead to 21-15 with 7:41 left in the first half, before closing the half on a 20-6 run. Neither team scored in the final 1:32 of the first half.

Warner Pacific (13-7) (8-3) made 18 of its 30 shots from the field in the first half, and was 57 percent from behind the perimeter. The Knights went 52 percent from the field in the game, and finished 57 percent for three-pointers.

WPC held Eastern Oregon to 32 percent shooting from the field in the first half, and a remarkable 0 for 9 from behind the arc. The Mountaineers finished 38 percent from the field, 20 percent for three-pointers, and 47 percent from the free-throw line.

The Lady Knights finished with four players in double-figures, led by Cameryn Calhoun's 16 points. The sophomore was 6 for 9 from the field. Kelsey Mattsen added 14 points, and Kristina Schumacher and Marissa Towry had 12 points each.

Eastern trailed by double digits for the entirety of the second half. EOU came within 12 points twice with under five minutes left in regulation, but could not come any closer. Tana Stickney led Eastern Oregon with 13 points. Kyle Miller added 12 points, and Ashlee Michelson had 11.

The game featured the second and third best teams in the conference, but the Mountaineers fall to fourth with the loss behind Northwest in second and Warner Pacific in third. Both teams are receiving votes in the current national poll.

Eastern used a buzzer-beating shot to beat WPC on Dec. 31, 2009, earlier this season in Portland. The Lady Knights have reeled off six consecutive victories since, the longest winning streak in the conference.

Eastern welcomes Concordia University (10-11) (4-7) to Quinn Coliseum Saturday. The Cavaliers fell at The College of Idaho Friday, 65-53. Warner Pacific travels to Caldwell, Idaho, to face the Lady Yotes Saturday.
