CALDWELL, Idaho - Reggie Guyton scored 23 of his team-high 29 points in the second half, including converting his final six three-pointers of the night, leading fifth-ranked Warner Pacific to a 97-91 victory over The College of Idaho, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Knights (17-5, 9-3 CCC) trailed 50-41 with just under 17 minutes remaining in the game, but caught fire from long range, canning 9-of-10 three-point attempts over the next eight minutes, taking the lead for good at 61-59 on a Jake Glisson triple with 11 minutes to play. WP would extend the margin to 82-71 on a Webster Moreland runner – and hold off the Yotes, who cut the lead to four in the final seconds.

It wasn’t easy early, as the Coyotes (8-12, 4-9) trailed just once in the opening half, using a 10-0 run early to take control, pushing the lead to 21-10 on a Kelly McCarty lay-up. A Noah Gottlieb bucket at the final horn gave the hosts a 41-33 lead at the break.

WP hit 16 three-pointers on the night – including 12-of-18 in the second half, and won despite a 41-31 deficit on the glass. Marcel Smith had 22 points, Kaylone Riley added 14 points, with Glisson and Webster each scoring 12 in the victory.

The C of I got a career-high 29 points from Kelvin Potts, with Craig McGee adding 23 points and nine rebounds. McCarty was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, scoring 11 points, while Matt Ballenger led all players with 11 rebounds. The Yotes hit 53-percent of their field goals in the loss.

The Yotes return to action on Friday night, closing out the three-game homestand with the annual I-84 Cup battle against Eastern Oregon at 7:30 p.m.
