EUGENE, Ore. – Northwest Christian University hit another season-low for shooting percentage, connecting on just 27% of their shots on Friday night in a 67-43 loss to #24 Concordia University.

Head Coach Liz Turner-Bolton said, “It’s frustrating because we spent all week on shooting drills and our offensive sets and we just can’t finish. They’re taking good shots, they just aren’t falling.

The Beacons (7-8, 1-5 CCC) were led by Calie McVicker, scoring 12 points along with a team-high seven rebounds. Aly Bruns and Katie Collins added seven points apiece with Bruns picking up three steals.

Concordia (9-7, 3-3 CCC) had four players in double-figures with Danielle Clausen (pictured) and Mariah Ladd each scoring twelve. Kourtney Craft added ten points, eight rebounds and five assists and Ann Snodderly also scored ten coming in off the bench. The Cavaliers shot 55.6% in the game, including a 63% clip in the first half as they established a 39-22 lead before the intermission. The Cavs survived despite collecting 28 turnovers in the game.

“We did some good things defensively tonight,” said Bolton, “and we forced a lot of turnovers when we starting double-teaming them. Those are the things we need to take out of this game to focus on preparing for Warner Pacific tomorrow.

Northwest Christian will be back in action at 5:30 on Saturday, playing host to the Knights.
