KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Oregon Tech junior Brooke Cole put a penalty kick away with just 19 seconds remaining to lift the Owls to a 3-2 Cascade Conference win over visiting Corban University today at Trevor Derrah Field in Klamath Falls.

With the victory Oregon Tech improves to 6-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Corban drops to 8-2 on the season and 0-1 in the CCC. The Owls host Northwest Christian University on Saturday at 2 p.m., while Corban visits Southern Oregon University in Ashland tomorrow.

Tech’s Jessica Bath put the Owls up 1-0 after controlling the ball and wheeling on a Taryn Urmson throw in for the game’s first score in the 31st minute of play. The score would remain the same at the half.

Tech went up 2-0 after Andrea Perez broke away from two Corban defenders at midfield. While Perez’s first shot was deflected by the Warriors keeper, Alexis Beattie, Perez was able to settle the rebound and chest the ball in from point blank range to put the Owls in control of the contest in minute 60.

Corban’s Emily Tsugawa took it upon herself to carry Corban in the second Stanza, scoring two goals within a six minute span. Tsugawa's first goal came off a corner kick from Katie Hanson that was headed into the back of the net to cut the Owl lead in half in the 78th minute. Tsugawa answered again in the 84th minute, this time off a Hansen direct kick from 35 yards out that tied the contest at 2-2.

With time ticking away, the Owls hurried to put the ball in play down on their own end with just 24 seconds to play. With just 19 seconds remaining, the Warriors were called for a foul in the box that led to a penalty kick for the home team. Tech’s Brooke Cole then calmly put the ball into the right side of the goal to put the game away, as the Owls opened up Cascade Conference play with the 3-2 win at home.
