NAIA Polls

PORTLAND, Ore. – Two Cascade Collegiate Conference programs – Concordia women’s soccer and Southern Oregon men’s cross country – are ranked No. 1 in the nation again this week, according to new NAIA Top 25 polls released by the national office.

Concordia, which improved to 12-0-1 with a pair of road victories last week, is top-ranked for the third consecutive week and fifth time this season. The Cavaliers collected 19 of 22 first-place votes to outpoint No. 2-ranked Azusa Pacific (9-0-2) of the Golden State Athletic Conference. CCC member Corban received votes in the poll but did not crack the Top 25.

In men’s cross country, Southern Oregon earned 23 of 24 first-place votes to earn the top ranking for the second consecutive week. The Raiders were ranked second in the nation in the first four polls of the season.

In volleyball, College of Idaho jumped from 17th to 14th in the NAIA Top 25 this week after defeating then-No. 12 Southern Oregon 3-0 in Caldwell, Idaho. The Raiders, who saw their nine-match win streak stopped in the loss, are ranked 17th this week.

A total of seven CCC cross country programs are listed in this week’s polls. In the men’s poll, College of Idaho is ranked ninth and Eastern Oregon is 17th. Concordia is receiving votes.

In the women’s cross country poll, College of Idaho leads the way with a No. 7 ranking, and is joined in the Top 25 by CCC members Southern Oregon (13), Eastern Oregon (15) and Concordia (19). Northwest Christian received 71 votes to rank 28th.
