Oregon Tech Falls to Corban, 1-0
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – In a defensive Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s soccer battle tonight at Trevor Derrah Field, both Oregon Tech and Corban University managed just six shots on goal, however, it was a Corban goal in the 14th minute that made the difference. The Warriors allowed Oregon Tech just two shots on goal, as the Owls fell tonight by a 1-0 score.
Oregon Tech slips to 5-6-1 overall, and out of third place in the conference standings at 3-4-1. Corban moves to 5-6-1 on the season and even in CCC play at 4-4-0.
Corban’s Gus Bermudez took a feed from Ibrahim Haruna and was able to skirt around an Owl defender to place the game’s only goal into the lower left corner of the net.
Oregon Tech did have a chance to tie, and even win, with two opportunities midway through the second half. Tech’s Oscar Alonso-Ayola sent a shot that ricocheted off the cross bar in the 58th minute, while a Victor Corona try was corralled by Corban keeper James Myrvold. Both defenses would stand strong for the remainder, as the game would stand with an Owl 1-0 loss.
Oregon Tech will look to rebound against league leading Concordia University tomorrow at Trevor Derrah Field beginning at 3 PM.
