Northwest University's Jordan Holmes was named the NAIA's Defensive Player of the Week for the period Oct. 11-17.
Northwest's Holmes Named NAIA Women's Soccer Player of Week
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Northwest’s (Wash.) Jordan Holmes has been tabbed NAIA National Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the national office announced Tuesday. Holmes was selected based on her performances from Oct. 11 - 17 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent/unaffiliated groupings.
Holmes played the entire game in goal, making six saves, en route to a 0-0 double-overtime draw against top-ranked Concordia (Ore.) on Oct. 16. The senior goalie from Mountlake Terrace, Wash., held the Cavalier offense, which averages 2.53 goals per game, scoreless for only the second time this season. The Eagles own a 6-2-3 overall record and are 3-1-1 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.
