Warriors Score Double OT Victory
ASHLAND, ORE. -- Rileigh Mankin scored midway through the second overtime period to give Corban a 1-0 victory over Southern Oregon today at University Field.
Corban is now 9-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play the season. Southern Oregon dropped to 7-3-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.
In a match-up that featured 37 shots and 20 saves, Corban was finally able to break-through a the 104th minute.
Corban's Rachel Cole sprinted up the left sideline and then found Mankin with a beautiful crossing pass for the winning goal.
"I'm proud of our work rate, but our soccer wasn't good enough today," SOU head coach Jon Clement said. "Credit Corban, they found a way to win it in the end."
Denise Powell and Ashton Griffin both had three shots on goal for the Raiders, while Jessica Kuehlwein had eight saves.
Emily Tsugawa had four shots on goal for the Warriors.
Southern Oregon continues Cascade Conference play next Friday at Oregon Tech.
