Carr Scores Twice As Raiders Roll to Win Over Geoducks
ASHLAND, ORE. -- Stephanie Carr scored a pair of goals to lead the Southern Oregon women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Evergreen State today at University Field.
The Raiders are now 11-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in Cascade Conference play. The 11 wins equal the school record for most wins in a season in program history.
Carr got the Raiders on the board in the first half after tapping in a beautiful pass from Kennedy Roteman from 10 yards out for a 1-0 lead at the 18 minute mark. Carr answered the call again for the Raiders three minutes later by banging in a shot off a rebound from 25 yards out.
Carr now has 10 goals on the season, which ties for second in program history for goals in a season. Katie Emerson holds the school record with 22 in 2003.
"Today was a workman like effort," SOU head coach Jon Clement said. "We had just enough, but nothing special. We need to be much better in combination with each other, but we will take the three points (for the win) and look forward to a huge match Friday."
The Raiders travel to top-ranked Concordia Friday.
SOU finished the match out-shooting Evergreen 30-1 on the day.
Today's match marked the final regular season home match for seniors Sara Switzer, Stacy Szeto and Diane Uehara.
