PORTLAND, Ore. – Southern Oregon University’s men’s program is the NAIA’s No. 1-ranked team for the fourth consecutive week and headlines a total of eight Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s and women’s teams listed in this week’s national cross country polls.

All 10 CCC programs are idle this week as they prepare for the CCC Championships Saturday, Nov. 6 in Klamath Falls, Ore. The team champions in each gender earn automatic bids to the NAIA Cross Country National Championships, which will be co-hosted by the CCC office and Concordia University Nov. 20 at Fort Vancouver (Wash.) National Historic Site.

In the men’s poll, Southern Oregon will take the nation’s top ranking into the conference championships for the second straight year. The Raiders, who have been dominant in appearances this season at the Sundodger, Charles Bowles, Mike Hodges, and Oregon State invitationals, secured 19 of 23 first-place votes to maintain their hold on the top spot in the NAIA poll.

Three other CCC programs are also listed in the NAIA men’s top 25 – No. 11 College of Idaho, No. 16 Eastern Oregon, and No. 23 Concordia.

In the women’s poll, College of Idaho moved up to the No. 6 spot after spending last week in the No. 7 position. The Yotes, who have been ranked as high as fifth this season, have spent all eight weeks this season in the top 10. Moving into the top 10 this week is No. 8 Southern Oregon, which achieved its highest ranking this season. The Raiders were 11th last week. Eastern Oregon is listed 17th and Concordia 21st.
