Durrell Leads Owls Past Eagles 5-1

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – On senior day, The Hustlin’ Owls lone senior Dylan Durrell had quite the day. He scored twice and had two assist’s all in the first half as Tech knocked off Northwest University 5-1 Saturday on Trevor Derrah Field at Steen Sports Park. Oregon Tech improves to 6-9-2 on the season and 4-7-2 in the CCC with the win. Northwest University falls to 8-8-1 on the season and 5-7-1 in the CCC.

Just 19 minutes into the game Durrell assisted Rey Chavolla on a spectacular goal as he scored sliding though the box hitting the ball into the empty net to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.

Durrell then took a Victor Corona pass and scored in the 24th minute shooting past the Eagle goalie on the run to put Tech up 2-0. Durrell then repaid the favor setting up Corona with a cross in the 31st minute as Corona shot from 20 yards out to put Oregon Tech up 3-0.

Sam Holcomb then made it 4-0 Oregon Tech when he took a Jimmy Hernandez pass and scored in the upper right of the goal from 18 yards out in the 37th minute.

Holcomb then set up Durrell with a picture perfect pass on the run as Durrell scored on a break-away and chipped the ball past the keeper to give Tech a 5-0 halftime lead.

Luke Fischer put Northwest on the board as he took a pass from Alex Taylor and scored from 15 yards out to make it a 5-1 game a score that would hold to the end of the contest.

Oregon Tech held a 22-17 advantage in shots and a 12-8 advantage in shots on goal.

The Hustlin Owls will wrap up the season on the road next weekend playing in Eugene against Northwest Christian University on Saturday, November 6th at 1:30 pm.
