KIRKLAND, Wash. - Corban's Katie Hanson's penalty kick for a goal was all the Warriors needed as they shut out Northwest U., 1-0 in a steady rain this afternoon. It was the final regulation season games as Corban clinched a playoff spot and second place in the Cascade Conference.

Hanson's PK came in minute after her teammate Emily Tsugawa was taken down on the left side of the box, 12 yards out. Tsugawa was injured on the play and could not continue which brought Hanson onto the field as a substitute and she knocked the PK into the upper right side of the net for the 1-0 lead.

The game proved to be a defensive struggle with the teams combining for only 4 shots on goal, all by Corban (15-3, 7-2 CCC). Corban out shot Northwest 11-10 as NU goalkeeper made 3 saves on the day for the Eagles. Alexis Beattie earned the shut out for the Warriors in goal.

Northwest finishes their season with a 7-4-4 season record and a 4-3-2 conference mark and in 5th place. Corban will now play in the CCC semi finals and will host Southern Oregon on Saturday, Nov. 5.
