KANSAS CITY – Southern Oregon University’s men’s cross country team moved into the No. 1 position of the NAIA’s Top 25 ranking Wednesday after four consecutive weeks in the No. 2 position. It marks a return to the top spot for the Raiders, who occupied the No. 1 spot for the final three polls of the 2009 campaign.
In all, seven Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s and women’s programs were listed in the rankings, released by the national office.
College of Idaho has a pair of top 10 programs – the women’s team is ranked a CCC-best seventh, while the Coyote men are listed 10th. Southern Oregon’s women’s team is ranked 12th for the second consecutive week. Eastern Oregon women’s program is listed 14th and the EOU men’s program maintained its position at No. 16. Concordia’s women’s team, ranked sixth last week, dropped to 18th.
The Northwest Christian women’s program and Concordia men’s program received votes, but did not crack the Top 25.
