The Evergreen Women's team took a second conference loss toady against Eastern Oregon University.
OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Evergreen State Women’s Soccer team took on Eastern Oregon University today at home on the Evergreen Fields. Eastern stole the day with a 2-0 win, handing the Geoducks their second conference loss of the year.
Sonya Daisley-Harrison (Tahoma, WA / SR, Tahoma, HS) seemed to get things off to a late start for the Goeys early in the second half with a direct goal of a long cross from teammate Katie Mendoza (Burien, WA / FR, Highline HS). The point was called back an on offsides call, inciting the crowd and sending Evergreen back on the defense for the rest of the game.
Lauren Robideau scored Eastern’s first point in the 64th minute, taking advantage of a miscommunication between Evergreen’s defenders and goalkeeper. Katie Yarnell jumped in ten minutes later with another goal in the 73rd minute.
Evergreen rallied in the last 5 minutes, desperately trying to recovery, but to no avail. The Mountaineers took the game 2-0
The Evergreen Women’s Soccer team will play at home again tomorrow versus College of Idaho at 3pm.
