ASHLAND, Ore. - Sarah Harris became the eighth player in College of Idaho history to record 1,000-kills in her career, as the Lady Yotes advanced to the championship game of the Cascade Conference Postseason Tournament with a 26-24, 25-13, 25-16 victory over Concordia University.

The No. 13 ranked Coyotes (22-4) recorded their 17th-straight win and will face No. 16 ranked Southern Oregon tomorrow at 3 p.m. for the league’s automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships.

Harris didn’t wait long for her record-setting spike, smashing down the first point of the match to register her milestone. The Yotes would build a 19-15 lead on a Liz Myers kill, before the Cavaliers (19-9) would rally, getting a trio of kills from Erika Doremus as part of an 8-2 run to grab a 23-21 lead. The C of I would not falter, as a Ciciley Fox spike turned the tide and a Harris kill gave the Yotes the lead at 24-23 – with kills from Harris and Lauren Bourgeau ending the frame.

The middle set saw the Yotes break open a 10-9 game with a seven-point push on the serve of libero Whitney Owen. Back-to-back Harris kills and a pair of CU hitting errors paved the way to the win.

Set 3 saw the Cavs pull within 11-10 on a Clair Thiel kill, but a 6-1 push, keyed by a pair of Bourgeau kills helped the Coyotes eliminate CU for the second-straight year.

Harris led all players with 11 kills and added four blocks, with Fox recording nine kills and Bourgeau eight kills and three blocks. Madie Machurek had 19 assists and eight digs in the victory, with Whitney Owen recording a match-high 23 digs.

Doremus led CU with eight kills, with Thiel adding seven spikes. Setter Lindsey Mangan had 23 assists, with Raluca Dinca leading the Cavs with 14 digs.
