Courtney May's triple-double vs. George Fox, the first by a CCC player since 2006, helped the Concordia junior earn Red Lion Player of the Week honors.
Concordia's May Earns Weekly Red Lion Honor
PORTLAND, Ore. -- Concordia University’s (Ore.) Courtney May, a 5-6 junior guard from Napavine, Wash., has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
May posted the CCC’s first triple-double since 2006 to help the Cavaliers defeat No. 10-ranked George Fox (NCAA D-III) 84-64. May had 13 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds against the Bruins. May then flirted with a second consecutive triple-double (12 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists) against California Maritime. She had 19 points, eight rebounds and seven steals in an 80-67 win over No. 22-ranked Holy Names (Calif.).
In three games, May averaged 14.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 5.0 steals. She shot 53 percent from the field, including 50 percent from 3-point range.
