ASHLAND, ORE. -- The 16th-ranked Southern Oregon volleyball secured the regular season Cascade Conference Championship and the right to host the conference postseason tournament with a 27-25, 25-21, 25-20 victory over Northwest University this afternoon.

The Raiders wrap up the regular season with a 20-3 overall mark and a 17-1 conference record. SOU will host the conference tournament next Friday and Saturday at McNeal Pavilion. The semifinals will take place Friday, with College of Idaho and Concordia playing at 4 p.m. and SOU and Northwest playing at 7 p.m. The conference final is set for 3 p.m. next Saturday.

Southern Oregon has now reached 20 victories in each of head coach Josh Rohlfing's four seasons at the helm of the Raiders.

Sarah Holgen and Lindsey Stone had monster afternoons for the Raiders.

Holgen had 21 kills to go along with 16 digs. Stone finished with 49 assists, nine digs and two blocks. Leanne Stennett also turned in a double-double, going for 14 kills and 14 digs.

Northwest was paced by Lauren Holtz' 13 kills.

The Eagles put a scare if the Raiders in the opening set, rolling out to leads of 22-17, 23-19 and serving for the set a 24-23 before SOU fought back.

Holgen and Stennett twice held off set point with kills and tied a 25-25, Bartling and Stennett combined on back-to-back kills to put the set away.

The Raiders bounced back in the second set and hit .316 for the victory and then held Northwest to .182 in the third set.
