The NU Eagles had four players score in double figures as they cruised past Walla Walla University, 93-45, this evening in a preseason contest in the Pavilion.

Leading the way for NU (2-2) was sophomore Emily Drivstuen’s 23 points on 9-15 shooting including 55% shooting from 3-point range. A trio of NU players score 11 points: Seniors Alyssa Welk, Erika Hornyak and Brittney Marshall all dropped in 11 points each. Junior post, Jessalyn Jackson, had a game high 10 rebounds and added 3 blocks for the Eagles who out rebounded Walla Walla 48-34. The Eagles shot 46% for the game and forced 26 Walla Walla turnovers.

Walla Walla (0-4) was led by Sierra King and Nicke Parks who each scored 15 points while teammate Heather McFadden added 10 points for the Wolves. WWU was limited to 30% shooting on the night and was 0-2 from beyond the 3-point arc.

"We started out a little slow tonight," said Eagle coach Lori Napier, "but it was good to see some of our different people step up the energy on the court for us."

The Eagles will play next in Tacoma at the University of Puget Sound on November 15 in another non-conference contest. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
