Scorching Hot Yotes Take Down Raiders
ASHLAND, ORE. - College of Idaho shot 67 percent in the second half and rolled to an a 78-50 victory over Southern Oregon tonight at McNeal Pavilion.
The Coyotes improved to 8-6 overall and 3-1 in Cascade Conference play. Southern Oregon fell to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in conference. The Raiders travel to NCAA Division I Utah Monday night for an exhibition game.
Nicole Gall led all scorers with 26 points on 9 of 15 shooting, including five 3-pointers. Katelin Shannon added 12 points, while Nicole Bruce and Meghan Hughes had 10 points.
Jamie Roupp was the lone Raider in double-digits with 10 points.
The first half ended with a 28-27 College of Idaho lead turning into a 31-27 halftime lead without any time running off the clock. Katelin Shannon made one of three free throws after getting fouled on a desperation 3-point attempt. Then following a technical foul, Gall made two free throws for the 31-27 lead.
In the second half, the Coyotes turned it into a blowout in the first nine minutes as they made 14 of 17 shots, compared to 3 of 19 shooting for the Raiders during that same stretch.
College of Idaho finished the game shooting 63 percent.
