Warner Pacific Sprints Past Thompson Rivers
PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific reached the century mark for the second time this season with a 100-60 win over Thompson Rivers University tonight at C.C. Perry Gym.
The visiting Wolfpack from Kamloops, British Columbia posted a 4-0 lead early in the contest, but the Knights responded with 12 straight points and a 25-1 run overall to sprint ahead and never look back. Biniam Tadele was key in the first period for WP, hitting all four of his attempts from the field including three from behind the arc. Webster Moreland added 10 first half points as the Knights led 49-24 at the break.
The second half was more of the same, as WP led by as many as 43 points. Eleven Knights scored at least a bucket as the team finished the game with a 51.4 percent shooting percentage.
Six Knights finished with double figure scoring, led by Sean Gaines‘ 18 points. Tadele finished with 15 points on 5-5 shooting, and a team high eight rebounds.
Kevin Pribilsky led all scorers with 20 points for TRU, while Chris Kok added 16 points including four makes from distance.
Warner Pacific improves to 8-5 on the season, while Thompson Rivers falls to 1-12.
