Eastern Oregon leads a trio of CCC teams in this week's men's NAIA Top 25 poll. Two CCC programs are listed in the NAIA women's Top 25 this week.
Led by No. 8 EOU, 5 CCC Hoop Teams Ranked
PORTLAND, Ore. – Five Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s and women’s basketball programs are listed in the latest NAIA Top 25 polls, the national office announced Monday.
The CCC is represented by three teams in this week’s men’s poll, with Eastern Oregon (10-1, 2-0 CCC) leading the way at the No. 8 position. The Mountaineers, who opened conference action by sweeping Evergreen and Northwest last weekend, moved up one spot from last week’s Top 25. Northwest (Wash.) University (7-2, 1-1) remained in the No. 14 slot, while Oregon Tech (10-2, 2-0) dropped two spots to No. 18.
Southern Oregon (8-2, 2-0), which defeated Concordia (Ore.) and Warner Pacific (Ore.) in road games last weekend, tallied 39 points for the No. 30 position.
On the women’s side, red-hot Concordia (Ore.), which improved to 10-3 overall (2-0 in the CCC) by winning its ninth and 10th consecutive games last weekend, climbed three spots to the No. 16 position. Eastern Oregon (9-1, 2-0) was one of three teams to move into the Top 25 this week, debuting at the No. 24 spot. Northwest (Wash.) earned one vote.
