PORTLAND, Ore. – The second-to-last weekend of the CCC’s regular season gets underway Friday night with teams jockeying for spots and seeds in the upcoming eight-team men’s and women’s postseason tournaments.

The winners of the regular season earn automatic bids to the NAIA Championships in addition to nailing down the No. 1 seeds and homecourt advantage in the CCC playoffs. Eight teams advance to the CCC tournaments in each gender, with the tourney winners claiming automatic spots in the NAIA championship fields, which get underway the second week of March.

All CCC games this weekend can be seen free of charge via www.pennatlantic.com.

On the women’s side, 16th-ranked College of Idaho takes a two-game lead over second-place Northwest into a road trip at Northwest Christian and Corban. The Yotes shared the CCC regular season title last year with Concordia. Northwest is at home to host Concordia and Warner Pacific.

There is one Top 25 matchup on the men’s docket this weekend, and it happens tonight in Olympia as No. 21 Evergreen plays host to No. 23 Warner Pacific at 7:30 p.m. Oregon Tech, the CCC leader at 12-3, hosts travel partner Southern Oregon Saturday as veteran Hustlin’ Owls coach Danny Miles seeks career win No. 900.

Eastern Oregon, which trails OIT by a half-game in the CCC standings, is on the road to face Corban and Northwest Christian, teams which have knocked off Top 10 foes in the past two weeks.
